I Want to Ask About Train Numbering System How To Say that One Train is UP and Other Train is Down. Please Explain
Train leaving from its base is UP and train reaching base is DOWN

in trains like Saurashtra Express 19015/16 even though PM done at PBR presently, UP number is 19015 as starts from DDR i.e. Headquarters of WR and down number is 19016 PBR - DDR
One more exception:
Gondwana Express having PM@NZM. But NZM-RIG is 12410 and return is 12409.

so IR and PR follow british system ,, earlier how UP and Down directions were decided was based upon the location of sea from origin and destination of the train..
so if the train is moving away from the direction of the sea , then it was labeled to be traveling in the UP direction and if the train was traveling in the direction of the sea or ocean,,, it was labeled to be moving in down direction. ..
