If you are booking at PRS then request the clerk, if using irctc, then you have option for seat preference.
If you book through IRCTC, just proceed till passenger selection page and select lower berth over there. rules are:
1. passenger should be single in form (if 2 passengers are there book 2 seperate tickets)
2. AGE limit for male> 60 , femal > 45
3. Choice should be selected lower

Proceed to the "Ticket Reservation Page", and there enter the name of the single passenger( as LB quota will be obtained only on booking single passenger ticket) and after putting his age ticket the senior citizen box.

For Female above 45 and less than 58, just enter the age and proceed for booking, need not to check the Senior Citizen box.On and above 58, tick the box and continue as for male.
