A TB of this train [no proper large TB was there]. Train was quite empty, including SL coaches. The AC 2 Tier coach seemed locked and from outside, seemed as if not a single person had boarded it. For an intercity train like this[with a low average speed too], a AC Chair Car might make more sense than an expensive AC 2 Tier. There already exists an AC 3 Tier. The most popular class is 2nd Sitting in the train, though only a couple of coaches are devoted to it.

Bich ke fizul ke stoppages bhi hata dene chahiye. Tinich, Gaur are most useless stoppages. No boarding/de boarding from here. Aisa krkr bhi time save krke GKP bhej sakte hai
I know, and useless stoppages aren't helping this train. However, if the tracks around ALD-AYC section is doubled and mps increased, there is a possibility of extending upto GKP. This is ultimately the shortest route b/w GKP-ALD and even after so many stoppages, this train is faster b/w BST-ALD than the VB on the same route, ironically [due to latter taking a looped route].
It used to originally go to ALD/PRYG but faced long delays during x-over to ALD main station. This can be done as a reverse ICE when compared to the VB.
All trains except FD-Prayagghat passanger used to go to ALD.
In 2019 I boarded Saryu Express from Allahabad Jn. I think it was 2020 when Sangam station was inaugurated along with dooubling of PFM-ALD doubling and the trains were shifted.
