You seem to have misunderstood my point .

The way vande bharat has not been given halt , (despite Hon'ble MP already announcing it on X and thanking PM for it) If strong protests are not voiced now (it's good citizens are doing that) ,IR will not provide halts at udhampur to any upcoming premium trains (Rajdhani/duronto/vb) on completed USBRL route, on pretext of its proximity to Jammu and Katra and lesser passenger footfall.(in comparison to bigger stations like JAT, LDH, UMB).
...

I have lived and studied in udhampur for 3 years . In late 2000s , when only Uttar sampark kranti, Jammu Mail and Jammu/pathankot DMUs used to come upto udhampur , at times we had to go to Jammu to catch long distance trains. Things are much better now , after trains extended to SVDK , but a lot more can be done .

Udhampur may not provide as much passengers to premium trains as UMB , LDH or JRC , but it has a sizable population, and is an important administrative and defence establishment of Jammu region in J&k .

IR needs to bring in a policy on rationalisation of halts . Providing halts only at time-tested well patronized stations on a route (as a 'low risk taking appetite") is only good for revenue , not from inter-region connectivity point of view .

Agree:Exactly my thoughts.
Your point is valid, Udhampur has been getting halts since trains are terminated just 24 KMs ahead at SVDK.
The moment Srinagar connectivity is commissioned, new trains won't get halt at Udhampur.

Arey that is known already, halt kabhi remove nahi hote. Even Village level stations don't lose existing halts.

Agree:That's true .
bro, now i understanded your opinion 👍 , you are right that during 2000s only few trains like malwa express, uttar sampark kranti and jammu mail were trains that came upto udhampur and remaining were local demu but after katra opening trains were extended from jammu and halts provided at MCTM except vande bharat and one more train which is not a premium train, it's just a normal express train, I don't know why railway didn't provided halt at udhampur for that train, that train is shri mata vaishnodevi katra - ghazipur city weekly express which stops at every major station exept udhampur
