This station was crossing station/Block during Single line operation constructed merely for Operational ease & was bit away from Actual Amargol village.
During construction of Hubli Jn. Bypass lines (Freight lines) a cabin station (Hubli West Bypass) was necessiated at diversion point which is just some 2 kms South of Amargol station. Also doubling further eased operational constraints. Hence they decommissioned this station.

Well explained. Also, it seems AGL didnt have sufficient footfall to remain commissioned.
Further, by Hubli West Cabin, did u refer to say XX-UBLW/Hubballi West Bypass Cabin ?
But, I tried searching Bhairidevarakoppa / BDKA on IRCTC, etc but cudnt find more info.

Yes. Footfall seems to be low as it was away from village town & also Hubli-Dharwad twin cities have good Road transport - City Local & Express Buses both from State RTC & Private. Also BRTS system. Else they would have atleast retained it as Halt station.
