The project received approval for its Detailed Project Report (DPR) on October 7, 2023. The central depot for the Metro will be located near Trisulia Square and will house the command and control center and essential facilities. The project aims to enhance connectivity within Bhubaneswar and plans to extend the network to connect Puri with Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.
