Its not Mandatory that what you see in google maps is true.
There are cases were platforms built looks like 3 but only 1 & 2 used and boards are placed.
See this image : /timeline/entry/6449143 It has 3 pfs but only 2 PF boards are placed PF 1 and PF2 and 3rd is used as Siding.
