The ongoing construction is facing delays due to a lack of variation approval, but the issue is being addressed through discussions with the Railway Board. Overheads Electric (OHE) facilities are being restored at the second washing pit in Saharsa to ensure smooth operation of the train. This includes adding a 430-volt supply and installing necessary equipment like cranes. The Vande Bharat Express will operate between Saharsa and Howrah at a speed of 110 km/h. Preparations for the train's operation will commence upon receiving directions from the Railway Board. The track work for the washing pit line is incomplete, and the absence of variation approval has slowed down the construction. This delay might affect the completion of the catwalk, pathway, hydrant, and electrical work in the 230-meter section. Without variation approval, the second washing pit will be limited to 590 meters. The Railway Board is expected to resolve the issue soon to ensure the timely operation of the Vande Bharat Express. The direct rail link between Saharsa and Howrah through the Vande Bharat Express will bring a new development to the Kosi region.
