It can differ from position to position if you say best Close in fielder at Silly Point/Shot Leg it has to be Eknath Solkar..Jhonty Rhodes has revolutionized fielding thats for sure.

Yes SRG is right.Position wise it differs.Mark Waugh,Rahul Dravid,Jacques Kallis can be termed as best catchers at close quarters like in the Slips.David Warner,Michael Hussey,Brendon McCullum,Suresh Raina,AB DeVilliars are all good fielders.
