SER had sent a proposal to SR to restore Haldia-Chennai Exp. But SR have denied to restore Haldia-Chennai exp .
This is a bad news for people of WB and specially Purba Midnapur and pashchim midnapore districts of WB.
For people of purba midnapur it was the only dedicated train for chennai and south india which was mainly used by patients and poor labours to travel directly from Haldia, Tamluk, Panskura and whole purba midnapore district.

To be honest, Haldia has enough resources to make the city a bustling hub for work. Improving railway network is one of them. But in-charge SER does nothing to improve passenger revenue from Haldia.. This zone is only interested in Haldia's freight section due to huge profits. At present Haldia has 3 local trains to Kolkata, 1 intercity to Asansol and a weekly Express train to Delhi's Anand Vihar.
Haldia deserves more trains.
