Why Railway board never took action for increasing the frequency of this train? Earlier it is the direct train to Varanasi but later during Lalu's time as a RM, this train was forcibly extended to Chhapra in 2008 and many South Indians were protested against this. I saw often this train many spiritual tour operators using this train usually above 50-60 ages for visiting Prayagraj Varanasi for doing Pind Daan, Pitru/Shraddha Karma etc also lots of South people visit this above places. Better SR can run another train to Varanasi via BPQ G NIR JBP route for shortest route if slot is not available and there is not even a daily train to Varanasi to Chennai since ages. Travelling in Sanghamitra/Bagmati/other weekly trains towards Bihar and changing at DDU is quite riskier as from an perspective of South Indian spiritual traveller. My family members (my Dad, Grandmother, my Aunt) etc travelled...

in this train. Also need to increase frequency of Kashi Tamil Sangam and Rameshwaram Banaras express as well as there are lot of temples dedicated to Bhagavan Shiva all over Tamilnadu.

I don't blame NER, at all. NR keeps messing with NER - everywhere you go, be it Varanasi, Prayagraj, Bareilly, Lucknow. NR wants the piece of cake in all of the cities of Uttar Pradesh.

NER is not a huge zone, it barely has 4 very important stations (GKP, LJN, BSBS, CPR) and not many (premium) trains, it's understandable why NER wants to earn more money. Moreover, the management of NER is soo much better than LKO NR, BSB NER has maintained it's stations much better than that of LKO NR

- all the district headquaters like Mau, Ballia, Ghazipur, Azamgarh (who are barely situated at 50 to 60 Kilometres from each other) - have their own Washing Pits, Dedicated Trains to the big three - Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and small stations of BSB NER are much better maintained too. Compare that to District Headquater stations that belong to NR like Bhadohi, Pratapgarh, Jaunpur and you'll get the answer.

NR has occupied all three lines in between BSB and LKO, so that it can get all the freight revenue, moreover they had planned to make JOP-SLN-NHH route DFC-lite by diverting non stop trains like Danapur Jansadharan, Rajdhani and Durgiana and they had planned to divert Begampura, Kumbh, Upasana too but these diversions didn't take place because of backlash from the people of SLN route.

Everytime you ask someone that why they're making soo many pits at BSB but extending all the trains, they'll answer "something huge is getting planned for BSB" But that "something huge" is yet to be seen.
