------------------NON-AC COACHES PRODUCTION UPDATE-------------------------------------
According to officials of Indian Railways, during FY 2024-25 & 2025-26, around 10,000 coaches are being finalized with a record number of over 5300 general category coaches.
In FY 2024-25, Indian Railways plan to manufacture 2605 General coaches, 1470 non-AC Sleeper, 323 SLR coaches including Amrit Bharat coaches, 32 High Capacity Parcel Van and 55 pantry cars.

This is something, I constantly spoke about since 2022 along with few people on this site. I knew, if things go south this way (reducing sleeper and general coaches to bits). We'll see a change and that change came on 4 June.
There were few people on this site who constantly dissed non AC passengers as if non AC passengers weren't facing enough of their struggles in Sleeper and General coaches, people were travelling like animals but government did not care but i think government also forgot that a poor man's...
