On a recent trip a foreigner who was a on a brief visit to India asked me " why have they made it mandatory to own a Indian mobile number to book a ticket online?"
I replied that it was an effort by the IRCTC to do away with people who create multiple ids.
She was confused and queried again " Do you really think it is a deterrent considering that SIM cards are available here dime a dozen?

yes tirupati ki prasad ki tarah pehle sim cards bechi jati thi par trai k naye rules k baad sim after thorough scrutiny for accuracy ,genuinety, after 7 days of submitting all the proof of id and address they activate sim else tata bye bye
