connecting one of the biggest city of dakshina kannada, that is mangaluru and the adjacent places of tourism importance to the city of pearls hyderabad, via the steel city ballari, mantralayam, raichur. the present train running between both these places easily takes 28 hours and though it travels in the fastest route, the route is very circutious as well. this takes just 19 hours, significantly reducing a travel time of 9 hrs and this provides better connectivity to the regions of interior karnataka to hyderabad.
