If you step out from platform 1 entrance, take a right to the main road and then a left, you'll reach Main Guard Gate bus stop. You can catch townies to srirangam, samayapuram, Thiruvanaikkaval and Thiruvellarai group of temples from there. If you go to Sathiram bus stand (the next stop), you can find a ton of townies to various parts of Tiruchirapalli. You can also grab buses to karur, thuraiyur, namakkal, Perambalur, Ariyalur from there. Moreover, if you cross the road and head to the right, you can catch buses to passport office, Gandhi market, Junction, thiruverumbur, thuvakkudi, and central bus stand too.
