The tracks haven't been upgraded to handle high-speed trains, causing disruptions to other trains. This issue is compounded by the fact that an eight-coach Vande Bharat train disrupts four or five other trains, impacting around 5,000 passengers, while only about 500 people travel on the Vande Bharat train. This has led to negative sentiment towards the service. The Vande Bharat chair car can only travel eight hours one way, limiting potential routes. Furthermore, the service does not operate from midnight to 5 am. The cost of building an eight-coach Vande Bharat is Rs 52 crore, and these 16 idle trains represent an investment of over Rs 800 crore.
