gokarna you can visit. one of the very important lord shiva temple is there and along with that you can even visit lots of beaches that are adjacent like om beach, kudle beach which came in some movies as well. also you can visit places like yana caves which is nearby. between kumta and gokarna there is also a fort called mirjan which is quite big. covering these places easily takes 1.5 - 2 days. if you alight at bhatkal/BYNR, you can visit kollur moogambigai amman temple. udupi should take a day or two including shri krishna temple, pristine beaches like maravanthe beach.
