The trials involve assessing the compatibility of the trains with civil infrastructure, evaluating the integrated systems, and conducting high-speed tests. Anand Vihar RRTS station will be a major transit hub, offering interchanges with Delhi Metro lines, railway stations, and interstate bus terminals. New Ashok Nagar RRTS station is designed for easy access, connecting to the existing Metro station via a footbridge. The current 42-kilometer operational stretch between Sahibabad and Meerut South will be extended to 54 kilometers with the addition of New Ashok Nagar. Once the entire 82-kilometer Delhi-Meerut corridor is completed by June 2025, travel time between the two cities will be reduced to under an hour. The project is seen as a significant step towards modernizing transport infrastructure in the National Capital Region, easing congestion, reducing pollution, and providing a rapid transit system for millions of people.
