In our IRI forum, we discuss many issues related to IR like TT, Booking Status, Quality, Speed etc... But there are only few instances where in we have shared our thoughts about LP/ALPs. I would like to share some information that an ALP provided at YPR.
On Dec 22, I was waiting for 16517 at YPR and suddenly I noticed a LP who was next to me. I recognized him to be a LP looking at his uniform and when I started my chat with him he introduced himself as Trinath, an ALP from SBC divsion with an experience of 2.5 years.
I

was amazed when he told me that even he is waiting for the same train for which I was waiting. When questioned, he promptly replied saying that a different LP will bring the train to the PF from the yard and the new ALP, LP team would carry forward.
According to him, his schedule was quite simple..
1. 16517-Dep from YPR only till MYS. (MYS halt).. One more set of ALP/LP will take the train from MYS till MAQ (not sure whether MAQ or KAWR).
2. Day 2: 16559-Dep from MYS till YPR and rest for a while and then again back to station at 8:15. He should enter the log books about the reporting time. His longest "drive" was till SA with WDG3A and that's his fav. loco till date.
In cases of nature calls or other emergency, the LP's can stop the train at a station for max. 10 mins. He told many LP's does that even when they are hungry to pick-up food from the station and runs back to the train.
At last, but not the least, he informed that if a LP/ALP crosses the Red Signal even by millimeters, then he will be removed from services without any enquiry.
I was eager to get even more info from him.. but the train arrived on the PF and it was bye bye.
