Same happened with lko-ald js discontinued with in 18 months..
I agree, Jan Shatabdi trains cater to masses and for same day return journeys these are better options.
there was bsb-lko jan shatabdi via bhadohi it is replaced by intercity
I think Janshatabdis are fully reserved trains, and were not popular thats why they replaced it with intercity.
