At present , the TKD - AGC Route for the NDLS - BPL Shatabdi Exp is fit for max speed of 150 kmph , as it's tracks are 160 Kmph capable in terms of speed tolerance . The LKO - NDLS Shatabdi Exp is going to be tested for 150 Kmph between LKO - CNB via Etawah as these tracks are also fit for max speed of 160 Kmph . This will bring down the train's total journey time from 6.5 Hrs to 6 Hrs between LKO & NDLS . A WDP Loco has also conducted trials on the Ghaziabad - Tundla Section at 180 Kmph in around 2005 according to IRFCA's IR History . This is so as it's said that tracks on CNB - NDLS Route are fit for 180 Kmph run for Superfast AC LHB Trains . I think another good section for 140 - 160 Kmph is...

between LKO & MB . A LKO - DDN Shatabdi should run on this route at such speed with only 3 stops at Bareilly , Moradabad & Haridwar . Thanks .
