There is something certainly incongruous about the railway system. I travel to Goa often and usually on the Konkan Kanya Express. It is becoming more and more difficult to get tickets on this train whether AC or non-AC. The last time (in early July 2010) I got a RAC ticket for 90 something in the sleeper class of Konkan Kanya. And even though I had reached RAC 4-5 when I boarded this did not get confirmed. Why are so many RAC ticktets being given out when there is little chance for confirmation?
I also noticed the bottom side seats of at least HALF the compartment was being shared by RAC passengers all night as a result. Sorry to say...
