Does Shatabdis still need to run in the conventional manner?
Permitting Exception to Diesel hauled Shatabdis, I propose to introduce the ultra modern ICE EMU train sets. I propose to import 10 ICE trains this F. Y from Germany to run on selected routes. These ICEs will replace Shatabdis on all high speed electrified routes. Each train will be customised to run at higher speeds on Indian Tracks
Benefits:
1. Faster Acceleration & deleceration.
2. Faster speeds (Min Avg speed will be 100 kmph).
3. Faster Line clearances permitting right of way for other trains.
4. New luxuries and comforts.
5. Different pricing
6. Same infrastructure, better models.
7. Existing Rakes will be transferred for urgently required LHB CC trains.
8. One CC in each Rajdhani for short distance travel

P.S. Safety, Punctuality and hygiene will not take a backseat and doesnt deserve announcement in Budget, When IR provides Train services, these factors go hand in hand... It is day to day responsibility of railways...
