I dont agree with ur opinion already there are 3 trains running in the evening rajdhani.ak rajdhani and garibrath so most of the people prefer travelling by these 3 trains.in night after golden temple mail there is no superfast train like rajdhani so duranto is good option and most of the people will travel by duranto instead of golden temple so in my opinion western has made correct decesion
The BCT-NDLS journey timimg is fine. But the return journey you proposed may not work with the timings as at 11 am on three days of week TVC Radhani leaves NZM and 2 days PUNE duronto leaves NZM at 11 am. So timimgs wise it may not work out at all.
AC express can be run leaving NZM at 12 30 pm and reaching mumbai around 8 am next morning
