The Historical old Pamban bridge of MDU-RMM section completes 100 yrs on 24 th Feb 2014 and the centenary function would be held on Feb 21,2014 and former President of India Mr APJ Abdul Kalam and Technology expert Mr. Sreedharan may be among the chief guests for the event.

Mr. Ajay Kant Rastogi, DRM, Madurai div. of SR categorically said that a decision on the Pamban bridge could be arrived at only after the team from IIT-Madras which is conducting a study on the strength of the structure submits its report.
