HELP HELP HELP
Booked 3 2-AC tickets from patna to jammu (HIMGIRI EXPRESS)
@ W7, 8 and 9
Chart got prepared last night and status is (See image)
1- A1 Coach Confirmed
2-
...
WL 1
2- WL-2
Confirmed Passenger is 45+ female
The waitlisted are Senior citizen male and female
There is so much written regarding they can hop into train, and then talk to TTE(who may or may find/allot a seat (2 seats in this case)
My questions
1) Is this a good option for these group of people ( 2 senior citizens) and what are my possibilities of getting seats from TTE
2) Do they need to bribe TTE for this?
3) Are there still any chances of upgrade of W/L Tickets?
NOTE that the train is coming from HOWRAH and PATNA is just a 10 min halt station (SOmeone told me if it originated from Patna, chances of allotment from TTE were more)
4) what are the factors which are important which will help TTE to allot tickets
The train would reach PATNA (boarding station) at 10.15 AM today
1) Someone told me, the ticket allotted A1, 30 is Side upper in 2AC coach?
Is that correct...another damn bummer?
2) does A1 stand for 2 Tier AC coach or is it a upgraded 1stAC ticket?
Please help/advise as much info as possible and for all the questions.
Thanks very much in advance.
I am just very f**ked over all this issue

In case of partially confirmed tickets, the Waitlisted passengers are allowed to travel with a condition that the confirmed passengers don't have any problem and they have to adjust within themselves in the confirmed seats.

Sir,
2nd AC coaches have RAC but the stretch which they are travelling for, is not entitled for RAC (RLGN Quota, short of main or other bigger quota) and hence, W/L straight after CNF.
Initially, if the TTE is allowing them to stay in coach and undertake travelling, it is his liberty. He has all the rights to detrain (May God help the Group and the TTE does not go to this extent).
They

need to follow up with TTE for allotment and he may do so if finds availability.
Wish you and the group - good luck.

.@arvind
i understand your point BUT wondering what happens to a group of adult age (25+yrs) old group who book say 10-20 tickets (dont know the limit) in one PNR and then 1 gets confirmed? 20 people adjusting on 1 sear would be a nuisance for others too. Adjusting is a very vague term by IR and LOGICALLY, either IR hould not allow such passengers i.e cancel the ticket like it does for fully W/L e-tickets and refund or make it mandatory for TTE to provide them seats as and when available in any coach. They can make sure to have a lower limit per PNR for W/L booking to make sure TTE's can help those small no of W/L passengers

later.
I cant still imagine that there is no seat on train (in any coach) even after traveling for 4-5 hours. Only thing i see is some "BRIBE issue and "keep running after TTE" importance they seek.
@SK Jain
Dear can you tell me how to find how long stretch is entitled for RAC? is this some KM-limit or some other thing?(Please provide as much detail as possible)
Further if these 3 passengers (i am not traveling; they are my relatives) were not provided RAC, does it mean that the normally possible "2-tier air con (4 seats per carriage)" or total of 8 RAC were provided to some other people?
If no, then why the TTE is not allotting them at least RAC for whatever stretch RAC is possible from their boarding station?

( For Normal Booking)6 passengers per PNR with 1 Confirmed ticket is also not a good sight. There is no way possible for 6 passengers to even sit properly on 1 berth, forget the sleeping part. That clearly means some passengers standing/causing congestion or encroaching upon others/roaming around !
Any way, my issue is not with some illogical rules (Some are destined to suffer them )
My issue is the allotment of seats by TTE , to partially confirmed ticket's WL'ed passengers esp. when they are senior citizens(75+)

cant believe there is no seat for them anywhere in journey (Its been 6 hours now). I am still contacting them, lets see how low TTE's can stoop (for bribe).
Though i am sure he must have already allotted to others even after these passengers having asked him > 3 times. (and even though its not that they are not ready to pay. They are. But probably TTE's entertain those who keep running after them many times (and may be give more bribe))
