History of Brindavan Express:
This train introduced in the 1964 as the first intercity expresses in the southern Railways. At that time it had stops only at Katpadi and Jolarpet covering the 360 km in 5 hours.
Later due to derailments of some trains the speed was reduced to take 5.5 hours in the 1980s. With increase in stops it has now come to 6 hours.

First class Chair car was replaced by AC Chair Car. Later on two more AC chair cars were attached owing to demand. Likewise, when it was introduced, it ran with 8 + 2 SLR. Now it is 8 UR + 2 SLR + PC + 11 II reserved + 3 AC Chair Car = 25 Coaches - one of the few longest trains in the country.
Recently, SWR had annouced that two AC Chair Car will be removed from Brindavan Express in view of introduction of DD..can anybody know the updates of this?
