hsinha 43 blog postsI have 2 confirmed tickets in 3AC for BCT-NDLS 12951 Rajdhani Exp. I want to take my 5yr old child along with me. If I purchase one more 3AC ticket (current status for 3AC is WL#225) from the rail counter for my child and take with me. Would this be allowed?

You can travel with your child only on YOUR seat by taking WL COUNTER ticket
or ask TTE for the vacant berth.

Assuming your child is over the age of 5 years, you can purchase a counter 3AC Waitlisted Ticket. Onboard do request the TTE to provide you an additional berth. He shouldn't object on humanitarian grounds.
Yes the child is 5y3m old. I will purchase 3AC WL ticket from the counter, which I do not hope to get confirmed as the WL#225 for the date of journey next week. Child can sleep with me and share my food, so that is not a problem.
You can submit a request for HO to the DRM or CCM citing some urgent reasons or may be (You need to take your child - as he/she is not well) and/or any conclusive reason you can think of.
