Shri. Rakesh Misra (GM of Southern Railway) gets a rousing welcome at CAPE Railway Station from Thiru. S. Nagarajan, I.A.S. (District Collector of Kanniyakumari) during his last official visit there for inspection on Saturday, May 04, 2013.

Many statements have been reported in the press; but not the ones which you have uttered here as GM has told. Anyway, what happened to the primary bore-wells already dug out at CAPE Rly. station and the additional supplementary water-pipelines laid-down to nearby 'pazhayaaru' river/pond in order to bring/supply water for the 'sanctioned/approved' Pit Lines, Stabling Lines, etc. at CAPE? I don't think it'll take 10 more long years to complete the job for the gigantic IR. If there's will, there will be way(s) !
i din utter anything about cape...if u know Tamil then pls see this news article and the statement said by GM...He said if the work is started then it will take minimum 10 years...
1. GM was of the opinion that works might take up to 10 years for completion after commencement. Also he was not on a formal visit but for inspection pertaining to up-gradation of CAPE to Cat.'B' ( Passenger earnings Rs.30 to 60 million) Railway Station.
2. Part of project at CAPE has been already started since its announcement in Rly Budget 2007-'8. Water Pipelines from ஒத்தையால்விளை (1.5KM) already laid down. Pipelines from பழையாறு (8km) about to commence. Water-fill points on the available Stable Lines going on, etc..

ya that only im saying if the work starts then it might take 10 years for completion........but dont u think that 10 years is tooooooooooo long for development....even Chennai Airport Renovation completed in 2-3 years...n Chennai Metro is going to get complete next year(4 years it took)....but for developing CAPE 10 years ah?!!!!!!!!!!!!
Expressing an opinion is different and official announcement/declaration is different. GM has expressed his opinion there on the sidelines, just the total period not the remaining period as 10 years. Almost 6 years have already elapsed after the commencement of the project in 2007-'08. If there is will there will be ways..
Any routine visit is formal and non-significant. But going for a special inspection towards up-gradation of a non-suburban railway station CAPE with annual passenger revenue earning potential of Rs. 30-60 millions to a higher 'B' Category can never be termed as formal and without any significance attached to it.
