This time Colombo to Kumbakonam..
Does such line exist now??

Obviously there was no line to Colombo, Srinivas. There was a steamer service from Dhanuskodi to a port town in Ceylon. Hence the name BOAT MAIL .
DANUSKODI in TN, INDIA to THALAIMANNAR in CEYLON [Sri Lanka] by steamer service with a single ticket for Indian , Srilankan trains and for Steamer service.
