Presenting the King of Purvanchal-12537/38 Manduadih-Muzaffarpur Bapudham Superfast Express. The least captured train of NER. My favorite train to travel from Varanasi to Gorakhpur. The only superfast train between these two cities and entire Purvanchal zone. It gets superb priority over other trains by NER between BSB-GKP. It overtook 12669 Chennai-Chhapra Ganga Kaveri Express at Varanasi City (though Ganga Kaveri departed from BSB earlier but was made to halt at BCY to give way to the king), Manduadih-Bhatni Passenger, Manduadih-Gorakhpur Passenger, 15707 Katihar-Amritsar Amrapali Express at Deoria Sadar. Licchavi Express was spared that day due to late running. Trains like 15018 GKP-LTT Express and 15008 Lucknow-Manduadih Krishak Express halted for crossing of this train. This train covers the BSB-GKP section of 231 kms in 3 hours 40 minutes with 2 halts and average speed of 62 kms. The BSB-BTT section is non-electrifed single section and BTT-GKP is mostly single and...

Re# 746431-11
The overtaking is completely justified.
*Bapudham Express is a superfast train and belongs to NER and this why it gets priority in NER.
*The running time of Ganga Kaveri between BSB-ARJ is more than Bapudham Express.
*Bapudham Express has to cover the BSB-GKP single line section of 231 kms with an average speed of 63 kmph in just 3 hours 40 minutes.
*BSB-GKP

is famous for delaying trains due to single section and chain pulling of Bapudham Express at BLTR and SRU.
*Ganga Kaveri was running late that day and if Bapudham had to run behind Ganga Kaveri then Bapudham would run behind schedule after ARJ which could not be recovered.
*Bapudham Express is the only superfast train between BSB-GKP getting super priority.
*Ganga Kaveri has a non-stop run of 71 kms AT 64 kmph between BSB-GCT whereas Bapudham has a non-stop run of 93 kms between BSB-MAU at 74 kmph.
