I would like to know about a fact of electric locos.....
How it is decided that, the panto graph along the direction/ opposite direction to be used ?
Because I have seen both of them in same way journey...

Because I have seen both of them in same way journey...
usually the backward panto is used. generator/engine assembly of that side will be used. so LP/ALP to avoid excessive heat in their cabin use back panto.
Front panto is used rarely, in winters only to prevent breakage due to high speed winds and wrong contact of back panto.
