What about to the acute shortage of running staff ??
: Railways has earned Rs 7,477.30 crore from commodity freight traffic in April, of which over Rs 3,000 crore was generated from transportation of coal. In April, the public transporter carried 42.96 million tonnes of coal and generated a revenue of Rs 3,420.74 crore, a statement issued by the Railways said today. Of the total earnings of Rs 7,477.30 crore, Rs 604.13 crore came from 8.90 million tonnes of iron ore transported for exports, to steel plants and to other domestic users and Rs 748.94 crore from transporting 9.27 million tonnes of cement, it said.
