can i board the train even the ticket is waitlisted.. because it is urgent to go?

Since its an E-Ticket, it would automatically be cancelled if it ends up in waiting. Please do not board the train in that case.
You are free to try that. But I don't think it would help much.
in case e-ticket is not confirmed.. can i request TC to allot me a seat?
