Hi, I had booked a tatkal e-ticket for two passengers (new tatkal scheme). When I started booking the status was available. But when the booking is completed the outcome was 1 confirmed and 1 waitlisted ticket. As it was not confirmed, I had to cancel the ticket. But to my shock, I lost almost entire amount of the confirmed ticket.
I feel this is pure cheating by IR. If both tickets were confirmed then I am bound to lose entire money as per tatkal scheme - which I understand very well and definitely justified also. But if the ticket is partially confirmed and partially waitlisted, how can a family travel - only one will go and another will stay back? I...

Very Sad!!!!
But The Tatkal Rules which were clarified by Circular later states clearly that no refund for confirmed pax under partially confirmed ticket. Although WL#1 in all chances would have been cleared at Chart preparation but it was your choice to cancel..
It may be called unfair or unjustified but can't be termed as cheating.
