In a statement issued on Wednesday, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Waltair Division M. Yelvender Yadav noted that the decision to cancel the service was taken to undertake traffic improvement works and other development works in the sections. A fresh decision was taken not to go ahead with the cancellation of the service.
The highly-patronised train serves the travel needs of commuters from Visakhapatnam to Kothavalasa, Vizianagaram, Bobbili, Parvathipuram and Rayagada apart from passengers going to Koraput. The proposal to cancel the train has drawn flak from the travelling public.
