Grievance Description : Dear Railway Minister, Sub: Railway Budget Every year, the Ministry of Railway is presenting its own budget, but the adequate Rail Services are not yet provided to people. Are public suggestions invited before presenting the Railway Budget? If yes, how and where same was announced and published? Please provide a copy of such publication. Railway Ministry is required to increase and improve Rail Services as an efficient public transport. Best regards,

Details : Requests for introduction of trains are constantly received from members of the Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee, Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee, Passenger Associations, MPs, MLAs and other VIPs and dignitaries for introduction of new train services are received at various levels of railway administration are scrutinized at two levels viz at Zonal Time Table committee where examination is done at a meeting between Zonal HQ and Divisional and subsequently at a National level at the annual Inter-Railway Time Table Committee (IRTTC) that is attended by all the Zonal Railways. The decision taken during the IRTTC meeting inter-alia from the basis of the announcements made by Hon’ble Minister for Railways for introduction of new train services. The proposals are however confidential in nature being a basic input material for Railway Budgetary process for subsequent years as well and the confidentiality is inherent to Railways working.
