Should be extended to Solapur. This doesnt really serve Maharashtra. I like the way AP and TN SKs are used in respective states.

No need of changing locos.Once KYN-LTT is electrified it can run on WAP upto Pune.Agreed with you regarding extension.It can be terminated at SUP with halts at BSR-KYN-LNL-PUNE-DD-SUP and slip portion can go to KOP with halts at SATARA-SANGLI-MIRAJ.It wil be profitable for railways.
bifurcation seems to be a good idea as it would be helpful for solapur. but Well how do you guys think of 12147 being run thrice a week?

Agar Maharashtra Sampark karanti ko pura week different destination se chalaye to is se 50% se zyada maharashtra indian capital se connect hojayega.
