If you need to type in any Indian language install"Google Input Tools" app/extension from Chrome Web store.The extn sits on the tool bar.You can select(by clicking on app) the language of your choice from the list.
Soon as you start typing in English,suggestions in your selected language appear in drop down box..
Feature can be turned off,and you can continue typing in English.

we can type in japanese or spanish , but very few will understand .. its better to stick to english.
Koush,normallyt,apart from English one can type in Hindi and many will understand,as you may very well be aware of.
(Also,if necessary a group can converse in their own language in PRIVATE post route also)
Pls study the App ,if interested.
In general,tool can be used on most of the text app like Notepad,Word etc
