!!! A trip in the NIGHT RIDER of IR !!!
-------------------------------------------------- ---------
A memorable journey of my life. My first ever journey in a Duronto train. A group of 4 friends decided to go New Delhi in summer holidays. Planning started a month earlier. The drama begun when we were planning to book tickets and continued till we booked our tickets.

friend of mine, forwarded his TERMS AND CONDITIONS to us :-
- he will travel In a train which departs ALD at 2200 - 2300
-he won't be travelling in a Chair Car
-Train should terminate at NDLS.
-Class should be 3A or 2A
-Ticket should be confirmed ( no WL or RAC )
- and many more.
Harsh Bhai Suggested Prayagraj, Farhan Suggested "A train which only overtake other TRAINS" which was a hint that he will be going in a DURONTO.
After a full two days quarrel among we 4, Duronto was finalized and in return everyone agreed with the Assami Prince, 14056 Brahmaputra Mail.
And the Tickets were booked. Everyone waited for the DOJ to come, but just before 2 days of the journey another drama begun, this time My friend wanted to cancel his tickets. And the ticket of Drama Boy finally got cancelled.
.
On the journey day, A tryst was planned, we were supposed to meet at sharp 2200 at ALD PF #1 Entrance. Farhan & Farhat ( My friends ) arrived there at sharp 2200. While Farhan clicked some of the snaps of the King Farhat waited for me. I being a lazy lad left home at 2215 and reached ALD 2235, 5 minutes before the king's departure.
As soon they noticed me they started shouting at me and this continued till we reached to our coach, It was already 2240 when we took our respective seats.
The train departed late by 7 minutes with a chain pulling making a total delay of 10 minutes at ALD itself. We crawled till Subedargunj and after that the Swiss hero WAP-5 came into action. Within 4 minutes we were rampaging at 130 Km/Hr.

As soon as we teared Bamrauli at flat 125-130 km/hr TTE Uncle started checking our tickets. After the checking everyone went to their respective seats. I requested a gentle man to exchange his berths which was SLB ( Not less than a HEAVEN for a Rail-fan ) with my SUB and he agreed. I thanked him twice or thrice. As soon as he climbed on SUB, My friends came and joined me.

were skipping each and every station above 125 km/hr. The WAP-5 was on full fire we overtook many trains en-route almost 1 train at every station.
At 2300 Farhan went to his respective berth. My friend gave his berth to a lady who was having a WL ticket and we 2 adjusted on SLB. We were enjoying the thrilling speed of the Duronto + the stylish overtakes.
Almost 1 train at every station. The KING thrashed each one of them. Shiv Ganga was closely following us and almost 80-85% of overtakes were same.
It was 2330 and most of the people went to sleep. TRADITION of SNORING was followed by some of them but it never disturbed us, we were enjoying the high speed overtakes and beautiful track sounds.
.
I tried to capture the overtakes but i failed. The PICTURE QUALITY of the camera was very bad. Attaching 2 pics which i clicked.
