WAP-7 s are given as loco links for some trains with high no.of halts just for the sake of better acceleration between halts.
WAP-7's do even haul Passenger trains too, before getting to Express/Superfast.
Possibly but if the train is not given preference en-route by section controllers then WAP-7 can't do anything but to under-perform :)

though, earlier WAP-4 used to the work perfectly.
