b4 3-4 onths i had sent the same proposal but asking for janshatabdi/intercity to PGPORATAL but i dint send any time table
n e1 i got reply but it was negetive reply saying
''ALREADY 19 PAIR OF TRAINS ARE RUNNING B/W PUNE AND SURAT HENCE A NEW JAN SHATABDI/INTERCITY EXP B/W SURAT PUNE IS NOT FESBL''

important thing is that they are just counting the number of train dats it
they r notconsidering the demand
OUT OF 19 TRAINS
a) 5 trains-banglore to jodpur/ajmer/gandhidham with same slot running different days which means daily 1 train only n that too arrive ST at 2:30 am so no 1 prefer n e1 verry small quota
=> 19-5=14 trains remaining
b)4 trains-sharing time slot with sc-rjt exp with diferent numbers n this train also no 1 prefers as it dep pune at 2am mid night n quota is also tooo small
14-4=>10 trains
c)5 trains- runs with ahimsa slot where it arrive at 3:45 am n none of the workers use as its odd timin n these trains are always ful
10-5=>5trains
d)2 trains-pune-indore/jaipur which arrive sutart after 11pm so less pass prefer it
5-2=> 3 trains remaining
n those 3 trains are
1-weekly vivk exp leaving pune at 5am which is difficult to catch n that too lesser quota
1-weekly ypr-adi ac exp
1-weekly ypr-jp garib rath special n thatz not permanent
so 1 intercity train to surat/vadodra from pune is must
BUT WAT TO DO IR IS NOT LISTENING TO US !!

It seems you've written exactly what I wanted to write. Agree with Sparshji (Surat BDTS Intercity Don of WR) about what reply you can expect from them.

the need of the hour is an intercity train, and all these long distance trains are of no use. I wrote back giving them an alternate where the train can be berthed at Pune, leave Pune in the morning and reach back by night, to solve the problem of lack of Rake Maintainance facility at Surat. This would also need just one rake.
But I'm not very sure if they'll consider it. Lets see what happens.
