konkan railway's official distances are inflated to 30% of actual distance to recover the cost of laying tracks. iri gives accurate gps based distance. the actual distance is 571 km which is inflated to 700+km in official website to extract the cost of maintainance and building tracks over konkan from the travelling passengers.
