Up till Palakkad this train probably runs as superfast after which i think it sheds its superfast tag. After Palakkad, it has got a stop after every 15 minutes till Ernakulam. Palakkad to Ernakulam is about 140 km and this train takes almost 4 hours to cover the same.

As far as 4hrs are considered, its the slack time provided to compensate fr any delay that would have occured over such a large part of journey.....

The only genuine superfast train within kerala running without any slack time is Bangalore Ernakulam intercity express....takes just 2 hours and 20 minutes between palakkad and ernakulam which is the quickest time by any train between these stations
