The dynamic brake resistor of the WAP4 was inside the cabin when it was intially made, then later the resitors where shifted to the top of the loco and these locos whose dynamic brake resistor where shifted to the top where called WAP4E. Later they shifted DBR of all the locos to the top and this class was abolished as all the WAP4s have thier DBR on its top.
