I want to give following information to travellers of train 16524 karwar yeshvanthpur express. Now railways have changed boarding point rule.from 1st oct 2013.Now if there is no seat from mangalore to bangalore you can book a ticket from Udupi to Bangalore and change your boarding point to mangalore. You have to spend only rs 25 extra.(If you go through seat availbility you always find mangalore bangalore quota full and quota between udupi bangalore is always available in hundreds). For reference you can read railway commercial no 47 2013
they should allow online change of BP even after ticket is booked at a later stage...
1-Once Is Not Enough?
2-How many times Change of BP is needed?
3-Every time change is made, it warrants 'clerical work' and cost of operations increase.
4-Percentages of passengers 'needing' BP change more than once would not be many, and would be few and far, and those cases would be 'emergency' ones...
5-Still...

you got me wrong. BP may be allowed to change only once. but not necessarily at the time of booking. even at a later date. i book a ticket 60 days in advance, but its not possible for anyone to give their exact location after 60 days at that time. so BP shd b allowed to change online after booking the tkt and nt during the booking of tkt. this does nt include any clerical / operational charge. just a twitch in software...

Yes,
You are right,
at present one has to go to PRS counter.
So it is limited.
If it is allowed on line, it eases the strain on passengers.
