my point was economical for railways to run or cost effective for railways. Economical to run not to public. Flights are always full with passengers between Ahmedabad and Jaipur @ Rs. 5000 per ticket so people dont mind paying 700-800 for a shatabdi or DD. Ahmedabad Ajmer DD can connect Ajmer Delhi DD so one can reach in a day from Ahmedabad to Delhi.

Similarly there is a shatabdi planned between UDZ and Jaipur which may not be full because too many trains on this sector with too less travellers. Ahnedabad- mehsana- Palanpur-Aburoad-Marwar Jn-Ajmer-Jaipur could be successful because Ahmedabad Delhi Rajdhani timing are not suitable for Ajmer and Jaipur. Alternately an over night train can be considered fully AC. Ahmedabad dep 2200 hrs Jaipur Arrival 0600 hrs Dep jaipur 2300 hrs Arr. Ahmedabad 0700 hrs.

The same theory of getting full capacity run opens gateway for many DRNTO & AC Exp, which now are been demanded to be shut down!!!
Everytime IR gets compared with flight but one thing which totally differentiate is class of flight,,,,u will find mental sooth in any class, but train travel is trauma, in any class or train!!
& how IR can run train economically if its not economical for traveler??? Operating & Rake cost for Shatabdi & DD is eventually same for IR!!
