With so many questions on stations codes and confusion thereafter , found some useful info ..will surely help to clear some doubts...

Kadapa aka Cuddapah was quite confusing one in the past. so the Britishers drew some kinda line on the map for a certain cross point and when they saw the lines crossed at Cuddapah, it was given HX. H for headquarters, X denotes the place where the certain line has crossed, or in other words, a place for meeting.
P.S this info is AFAIK one. I read it somewhere in IRI itself.
