Mega Health Check Up Camp for Women Conducted at Railway Health Unit, Kacheguda

South Central Railway organised a “Mega Health Check Up Camp for Women Railway Beneficiaries” at Railway Health Unit, Kacheguda recently with the active participation of Apollo Hospital, Hyderabad and SCR Employees Sangh. Dr S K Gupta, Chief Medical Director, SCR was the Chief Guest at the Health Camp.

Shri Rajkumar, Addl. Divisional Railway Manager, Hyderabad Division, SCR and Smt. Padma Rajkumar, Vice President, SCRWomens Welfare Orgnisation, Hyderabad Division, were the Guests of Honour. Shri. Prabhakar Andrews, Zonal President, South Central Railway Employees Sangh,and Shri. K.Bhikshapati Divisional Secretary, South Central Railway Employees Sangh, Hyderabad Division also participated as special guests. Dr. S K Gupta, inaugurated the exhibition stall of “Home Cooked Balanced Diet” brought by the residents of Kacheguda Railway Colony and released Health Posters.
While addressing, the participants, Dr. S.K. Gupta spoke o­n the importance of screening programmes for early detection of many diseases and praised the medical team of Hyderabad Division for organizing the camp. Shri. Rajkumar expressed his happiness for conducting such a big camp for women with active participation of trade union and said this is perfect example for excellent co-operation between management and trade unions.
The camp started with testing for fasting blood sugar and Yoga training in the early morning .250 women have participated in the camp. 245 Women were screened for pap smears and breast examination by specialists from SCR Central Hospital / Lallaguda. Dr. Ramesh, Additional Chief Medical Superintendent, Moula-Alihave examined the women for Hypertension and other ailments. Blood testing for Hb%, HbA1C and RBS were also done. Dr. M. Ravikumar Chief Medical Superintendent, Hyderabad Division presided over for the Health and Cancer awareness stage program.
A Quiz program was conducted for the participants followed by Guest lecturers byDr. K. Nagasundari, Additional Chief Health Director, (Gynaec); Dr.Damayanti, Deputy Director, National Institute of Nutrition, Dr. Vineeta, o­ncologist, Apollo Hospitals o­n various health subjects beneficial to women.
