can a waitlisted passenger travel with his family members/friends who have confirmed tickets

yes if its prs tkt , u need to adjust with fellow friends/family
if its e-tkt pax u need to pay fulll fare of tkt to tte

another Q : if i book e ticket through IRCTC Website & end up with waitlisted ticket ( if already paid full amount to irctc) , would i be chaged anything extra by tte ? :)
